In this defense we used Front to defend the attacks. And we used minimum 12 tools in each slot.
This type of defense mostly useful for many attacks.

Arrow slits are used in 3 slots and Machicolation in 1 slot and Portcullis in 2 gate slots.
And deployment of all soldiers on Front 100%.
OR
We can use 2 slots for Arrow Slits and 2 slots for Machicolation also.
Unit distribution ratio can be used mostly (given on image)
65% melee and 35% ranged
OR
65% ranged and 35% melee
You can use Fire moat for moat protection.
Tips:
- Use this defense in castles and outposts.
- 4 tools needed in each slot for defending 1 full attack.
- If you have 5 slots at Front then use 2 slots for Arrow slits and 1 for Machicolation and 2 gate slots for Portcullis.
- Using minimum 12 tools in each slot will assure you that you have enough tools to defend 3 full attacks at same time.
- When you will stop attack from Front it will give you no extra bonus to fight in courtyard but it is good to kill many attackers in front.
