Setting the
defense is art. And like any art requires 1% talent and 99% practice. Do not
worry, practice.
Setting the
defense on the wall to make a custom attack. With a number of changes in the
game cannot be clearly declare "Set it so and so and always win."
You
must be present in the game when attack and defense set up by the composition
of the attack, the available defense resources, the quality of the castellan in
comparison with the commander of the attacking forces and defenders in
comparison with the attacking troops.
The game
allows you to adjust the deployment of soldiers on each wall and the ratio of
defenders to close defenders at a distance.
If you
communicate on chat, then writing for example: 100-0-0 80/20 ratio setting
means defenders on individual walls in a ratio of 100% left wall, 0% and 0% of
the center of the right wall. Defenders ratio is close to 80% and 20% at a
distance. Such a notation is intuitive, as accurately captures the positioning
of the individual rods in the box defense. Ratios for setting the defense can
be and often are different than in this example.

To set up
the defense by clicking on the shield icon with a circle that can be found in
the menu bar on recruitment, or click the castle or tower defense.
Window settings Defense -
overview
The picture
shows a setup screen defense. Image was obtained at the castle after last stages of construction. Down beside the chat window displays the available defense
resources. Individual boxes for the location of resources (slots) is open only
to certain channeling walls and gates.
The more fields you have available, the
more defenses can be placed. Bookmark the left (yard, walls, moats) scroll
through the line of defense. Given that the castle can only dummies (which used
to be used to detect espionage, but for now useless), we are interested in only
the current tab walls and moat.
Information
panels on the right show the total number of defenders on the battlements,
ramparts and defensive bonus.
The central
part occupies rod setup deployment of soldiers on the walls. The current
setting (0-100-0) is one of the recommended. The default setting of this driver
is 25-50-25, but this is a convenient setting for maximum defense against
robber barons. Under the rod are icons of the sword and quiver beneath which is
the ratio of soldiers settings window melee and range for the corresponding
wall. The value next to the walls of the gate shows the ratio of defenders per
individual walls.
Defense
resources are placed in all the slots in the minimum amount of 4. However, if
some of the walls let no defense, there are means unnecessary, since anyway not
apply. The presence of defenders we can convince moving the mouse to the wall.
The wall is highlighted and panel displays placed defender and defense bonuses.
In terms of placement on the wall are
the most commonly used these settings:
- 100-0-0 or
0-0-100 - this kind of setting is used when an extremely strong attack, or when
the enemy attacks the castle / base with unfinished towers. Defender prevents
just one of the side walls full force of the defenders on the walls and try to
only about disabling a bonus + 30% for the enemy. In this process, the defense
will compete defenders on the wall with only 1/5 of the attackers and their
chance of winning is the greatest. At the same time, however, admits 4/5
attackers in the courtyard, where they must be appropriate superiority to avoid
big losses.

- 50-0-50 - Conservative defense against conventional attack. Defenders are divided in half
between the left and right wall and will compete for a total of 2/5 of enemies.
This way the defense has the advantage that a successful defense of both wings
means -30% for the attacker in the courtyard, which significantly weaken
his forces that pass through the center. The disadvantage of this method is the
high consumption defenses.

The ratio of defenders 50-0-50

- 0-100-0 - one
of the most popular settings. The defenders on the walls will compete with the
3/5 attackers. The attacker or defender, successful will get the bonus in the
courtyard, but the advantage for the defender is a small number of attackers
admitted to the courtyard. In contrast to the conservative defense of 50-0-50,
there is little advantage in that even if the enemy manages to break through
his losses usually are so large that a 30% bonus cause enormous damage. But
relying on it is foolish if you go forward with a very well equipped Commander
and good elements. Indeed, if an attacker breaks through before wave 4,
the consequences are frightening.
This type of
setting defense is highly effective even against a strong attack, if we built a
moat, moats and fire warden with a bonus to the moat. In other situations, it
is better to defend strong attacks another way.

The ratio of defenders 0-100-0

There are of
course, other settings (e.g. 33-67-0), but they can be used when the weak
attacks launched commander weaker (in comparison with the castellan) and the
timber means, when using a means of defense least ruby quality or armorer
quality.
I will also
ratios 01-01-98, 1-98-1. These ratios are forces, intended for cases where the
defenders are few and it is likely that the enemy will prevail. Their purpose
is offensive consumption means an attacker to "unprotected walls".
Indeed, if the defenders on the wall, if only one, then the offensive and
defensive means in the wave used. If there are no defenders, means shall not
apply and your attacker, in case of a win, take it back. When setting mentioned
defender removes at least one wave of attack means, which is using the armorer

In terms of proportion of soldiers
are most commonly used these settings:
100/0 - This
setting (100% melee fighters) is used as a defense against melee attackers at
close range. Always combines only with means for raising walls (equipment or
ditch. Gate is granted, I.e. with battlements, kettles or in
need rocks. We will not use resources for Ranged soldiers, they would be lost without
benefit.
Also (surprisingly) used in the attack of ranged soldiers (100% or a high),
in which a high number of peaks. In particular, gable walls or ruby shields.
Wooden movable wall has no such effect, but the large number of this setting is
recommended for these cases.
The reason is that the shields (gable walls, cast
iron shields, movable walls) reduce defense force defenders at a distance up to
scratch! May then lead to a situation where only one attacker at a distance he
shoots all defenders remotely. I use a large number of mobile walls will
considerably weaken the defender remotely. In contrast, defenders near the
shields are not affected but benefit from the bonus for unsurpassed walls or
moat, most often both. With these bonuses to their defense force (though barely
half against ranged soldiers) levels to a minimum level of ranged attackers.
Against the melee attackers their defense is always high.

This setting (100% ranged fighters) is used less. It is due to
popularity attacks with shields. Generally, this setting is preferable to
defend against ranged attackers, where the plurality of shields negligible. In some cases
this setting may be beneficial against melee units equipped with heavy mining
equipment against walls and gate. On the walls give this setting only means for
strengthening ranged fighters (Arrow shields, fortifications (basket), Bulwark, flaming arrows).

70/30, 30/70 - settings with the share of both types of units are mainly used where there
is no obvious superiority shields compared armor technology. The ratio of
units for melee and ranged may be different depending on the situation. Always
helps if you know your enemy and know how to build their attacks. Mix it builds
mostly for numerically weaker attacks (i.e not full).
Rather, it seems to me
that the greatest efficiency has experienced fewer attacks against the
invaders, but also attacks experienced players can successfully reflect with
such a setup. The most common use is with the means to support Ranged soldiers, since
heavy attack usually includes full compensation ramparts gunsmith to close, but
the lack of shields to cover the distance. Should a significant superiority
shields, then it is effective to adjust 100% near.
These ratios
are indicative and soldier is always necessary to use experience for the best
setting.
